Details Some years ago I had the opportunity to participate in an immersive, week-long horseback riding and photography experience at The Ponderosa Ranch, a working cattle ranch near Seneca, Oregon. Traveling with renowned wildlife photographer and Canon Explorer of Light George Lepp, I was able to capture images of a cowboy way of life that has vanished from many places but was still an essential part of ranching here. While I learned that I would probably never be a great horseman, I came away with a satisfying set of images. This gallery contains some of my favorite pictures from the shoot.
Shooting Notes All images captured using Canon EOS-1V and EOS-3 film cameras, Canon EF lenses, and Kodak Ektachrome E100VS color slide film. Scans made using a Nikon LS-8000 ED film scanner.
